Red bull swaps Daniil Kvyat with Max Verstappen in F1 Line Up

Red bull have announced Max Verstappen will replace Danill Kvyat for the remainder of the season. Kvyat will move to red bull sister team Toro Rosso, as Verstappen is promoted to partner with Daniel Ricardo.

The switch comes after Kvyat was involved in a crash with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel during the Russian grand prix which resulted in Vettel being taken out of the race. This was the second time this season the two drivers were involved in a crash, the first happening at the Chinese grand prix where both drivers still managed podium finishes.

“Max has proven to be an outstanding young talent” said Red bull boss Christian Horner.

“His performance at Toro Rosso has been impressive so far and we are pleased to give him the opportunity to drive for Red Bull Racing.

“We are in the unique position to have all four drivers across Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso under long term contracts with Red Bull, so we have the flexibility to move them between the two teams.

“Dany will be able to continue his development at Toro Rosso, in a team that he is familiar with, giving him the chance to regain his form and show his potential.”
