Money the Necessary Evil
“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1st Timothy 6:10.
The above extract is from the King James Bible stating an undisputed truth by Timothy that has lasted for centuries. Despite abundance of relevant teachings on money from every kind of religion, money continues to play a dominant role in our lives and may even direct our religious discipline.
But why has money come to play the role of the necessary evil in the society? If it is truly the root of all evil, why can the society do away with it? The only ideological explanation is that money is the physical exuberance of an underlying intrinsic need of the human society; the need to evolve.
Human beings are lazy and they will always choose the easiest way out of doing any given task. This laziness factor has led to the continuous evolution of man in search of efficiency. A quick look at technology would reveal this efficiency. The remote controller for your TV has saved you a lot of energy and made you extremely lazy. Just imagine watching the TV without a remote, the amount of exercise you will do may amaze you.

Then systems had to be formulated to compensate the hardest working fellows in the society. The easiest formula was to be based on your stomach since that is the primary reason that you work. Batter trade ensued in the process but suffered drawbacks of indivisibility and bulkiness hence money was invented.
From cowry shells to coins to virtual money, money continues to play a dominant role in evolution of man to efficiency. Money has evolved as a transaction aid to a wealth determinant due to the systems that governs the credibility of the coinage. Money is trust inscribed; portable power hence it has lost its value in compensating the most hardworking individuals in the society but now favors the most cunning.
Think of the far future when all you may need is a memory chip in your hand. Your salary would be credited there and all your expenses would be debited automatically. Then you will realize that the money Timothy was referring to was ideological and not literal. Money is just an outward power representation of the need to lie, be crafty and want to control another human which is an intrinsic problem of human beings hence money would remain as the necessary evil that fuels the evolution wheel.
